My sister's project was to refinish a table and other furniture in a spare bedroom. After she had successfully completed it she arranged unintentionally the one corner as you see it. With a slight adjustment and one addition I decided to use it as a still life composition. The white Lenox cat plays with a jeweled ball on a glass top, three legged table. A blue urn and Philodendren plant are all reflected in the glass top. A cream colored velvet chair sitting on a swirled carpet is nearby. copyright 2017
The artist was born and raised in Reading, PA and now resides in Spring Township, Berks County, PA. She is primarily a self-taught artist, however over the years has taken instruction from various teachers. Paul Flickinger has been her mentor and instructor for the past 10 years. Proficient in portraits, floral still life and landscapes her medium of choice is oil; although, she uses acrylic equally well. Marlene has participated in a number of local shows and has had several solo exhibitions.
